On April 4 The Salvation Army Penticton Choir put on a performance at the Village By The Station seniors centre in Penticton. The performance was also in support of the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. During the performance the staff at Village By The Station presented the choir with $1,832.75 for The Salvation Army Japan Disaster Relief Fund. All money was collected during a recent bake sale as well as private donations from the residents. It was very special event and a very emotional one too. One of the staff at the centre lost several close friends during the earthquake and expressed her gratitude toward the resident’s financial contributions toward the survivors.
