The kids and I went to Keremeos and camped beside the Ashnola River. On the way there we stopped at Bear’s Fruit Stand and bought some delicious fruit for breakfast. The Ashnola River (a tributary of the larger Similkameen River) was spectacular and we had the time of our lives. It was the first time camping for the kids and they loved it! I bought a $10 fishing pole, a $10 net, and some fly hooks and the kids were all set for fishing. Both kids caught a fish each (I released them of course) and are now “hooked” on the sport. We inherited a huge tent from my sister and brother-in-law, and we were very comfy on our first night in the wilderness. I woke up at 4AM and took some photos of the early dawn and then went for a stroll after 5AM. When I returned to the tent, both kids were down at the river’s edge fishing again! Looking forward to many, many more camping trips in the near future…
